Fluorescent Workouts at St Martins Lane Hotel

Extra
Flow in the Dark Yoga

An unconventional workout practice that encourages attendees to gear up with UV face paint, glow sticks and neon clothing has launched in London this month as a series of pop-up events.

Unlike typical gym classes, activities including flow-in-the-dark yoga, black-light boxing and black-light burpees will take place in dark rooms illuminated by black lights. Visitors in bright activewear will have access to a DIY neon face paint station. The amplified colour experience aims to leave gym-goers feeling rejuvenated and energised.

The therapeutic power of colour and holistic escapism through the senses is a burgeoning trend in sports and leisure. Hosted by The Wellscene at St Martins Lane Hotel and at another secret location in Maida Vale, this initiative considers the importance of colour in the visualisation of energy flow.

Sensory immersion has inspired other wellbeing spaces in London such as ChromaYoga, which complements the ancient practice with colour therapy, aromatherapy and sound – read more in our blog post.

Take a look at Transformative Spaces, part of our Business of Wellbeing Macro Trend for more examples of how colour is being used in branded environments to tune our feelings. Also look at Exploring Light, Opacity & Projection to see how coloured light can be implemented into various art, design and technology projects to enhance engagement.
