Dorset Cruises is launching the UK's first cruise experiences dedicated to artisan gin. The British operator's daytime Artisan Gin Cruise will enable passengers to sample award-winning, premium UK gins and gin cocktails. They will also receive an engraved bottle of tipple from Corker Gin – Dorset's first gin distillery – to take home.
Meanwhile, its evening Corker Gin Dorset Cruise will teach guests about the gin-making process. Conducted in collaboration with Corker Gin, guests will also enjoy a three-course meal. Passengers on both cruises can expect gin-inspired canapés and experts on hand to answer any questions.
The events will take place aboard vintage 1938 motor yacht the Dorset Queen, which will travel around the picturesque coastal area of Poole in Dorset. The first cruise will set sail on April 7 and will be available throughout the summer, with tickets costing £35 each or £300 for a VIP table for six.
"These targeted food and drink experiences have the potential to create tight-knit micro-communities that will continue learning and sharing well beyond the cruise itself," says Mandy Saven, Stylus' Head of Food, Beverage & Hospitality. "Bigger operators could use this thinking to create a 'club within a club' experience for passengers, with tastings and hands-on production and learning workshops."
