The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel which positions itself as a party property has launched wristbands with RFID technology to connect its social-media-obsessed guests to Facebook.
Guests are given the option to wear the tech wristband throughout their stay. The device is synchronised with their Facebook profile and sensors have been installed throughout the hotel so that users can swipe their wristbands to upload photographs, update their status and check-in using Facebook Places. All content created will be added to the hotel’s own Facebook page.
This latest initiative illustrates the exposure and promotion from which brands can when engaging with Facebook and other social networking tools.
