Embassy Suites’ Facebook Wedding

Hilton-owned Embassy Suites Denver Downtown hotel in Colorado, US has launched a social media campaign that allows Facebook fans to plan a $30,000 wedding. Launched in January 2013, the Win a Wedding campaign aims to promote the hotel’s wedding facilities to prospective couples, wedding planners and vendors. 

Embassy Suites asked engaged couples to submit a video or paragraph explaining why they deserved to win an all-inclusive wedding at the resort, and then invited its social media fans to vote for the winning couple on Facebook. The poll opened on January 23 and has already received more than 5,000 votes.

Once the winner is announced on Valentine’s Day (February 14), Facebook fans will then start planning the big day – voting on everything from the wedding theme to the bride’s dress. 

According to speakers at the 2012 Boutique Hotel Summit, it is important for hotels to build their ‘online real estate’ using social media.
