Nuart Festival 2012

Now in its 12th year, Norway’s annual contemporary street and urban art festival Nuart is touted by curators as the “Cannes Festival of street art”. Based in Stavanger, this year’s edition (September 27-29) will host its biggest presence of contemporary global graffiti artists.
From September 20, international street artists including Ron English from the US and Ben Eine from the UK will begin to leave their mark on the city walls. This dynamic, large-scale public art event will offer up the latest in Scandi graffiti design, as well as styles from the UK, Latin America, Africa and the East.
A new addition this year, the Nuart Plus summit invites creatives to spark a wider conversation about the field alongside visual projects. Highlights will include character graffiti by Sickboy from the UK, calligraffiti by Amsterdam’s Niels Shoe Meulman, and playful urban interventions by The Wa from France. An accompanying indoor show at the Tou Scene will remain open until November 18.
