Established in 1999 by chef and artist Jim Denevan, Outstanding in the Field is a restaurant without walls that’s on a travelling culinary adventure.
The roving restaurant sets up shop in farms, gardens, on mountaintops and islands in locations across the world. Its mission is to reconnect diners to the origins of their food and to honour the local food artisans who grow it.
The ingredients for each meal are all local and prepared by a celebrated chef of the selected region. Once the food is prepared the farmers, producers, artisans and diners share the long table and some good grub.
The 2012 Outstanding in the Field schedule is being released in March with tickets going on sale soon after.
