Now in its 13th year, London Design Festival promises to exceed expectations, with a programme that goes beyond product and furniture design to encompass food, scent, data and more. With the city’s annual celebration of design just around the corner (September 19-27), we take a look at the key things on Stylus’ radar.
- Talking Technology: The growth in technology events this year demonstrates a shift towards a more inclusive approach to design. Forward-thinking tech products at Tent’s new Techable section of the show include those from leading brands like Hive and Sam Labs.
- Multisensory Settings: Beyond product launches, a feast of multi-sensory and immersive spaces are set to delight brand enthusiasts and visitors alike. Tom Dixon’s Multiplex store concept promises to bring together design, tech, fashion and film alongside scent and sound as a vision of the future of retail.
- Hybrid Approaches: Collaborations between creative practitioners from the fields of science, design and technology will offer active solutions for sustainable living. See Plants Out of Place’s experiential programme, which readdresses overlooked wild flowers.
