Tapping into rising consumer demand for images, self-documenting and authentic experiences, Pinpic is a new app that connects travellers with on-demand photographers.
Available on mobile or tablet devices anywhere in the world, Pinpic is a digital marketplace where consumers can discover and book professional photographers, and filter their results by price and ratings. Some 500 photographers have already signed up to use the service, according to co-founder Urooj Qureshi.
Co-founder Alen Ankajcan created the app after recognising an increasing interest in personal and unique – but beautifully captured – images. The app also reflects the popularity of on-demand technologies.
Called "Uber for photographers", Pinpic triggers consumer desire for products that highlight shareable, community-focused and customised content. The app is due to launch in April. Its creators are currently seeking crowdfunding via a Kickstarter campaign, which will run until the end of this month.
