Israeli start-up Knowmail is building a personalised artificial intelligence (AI) inbox to help employees better manage email and other messages.
Setting out to solve the problem of information overload, TechCrunch reports that Knowmail is "an AI engine that installs on top of Outlook, studies your email habits, time management and personal preferences, and is able to deliver the emails to you more appropriate to your needs.
“Specifically, this means the ability to view emails that have been automatically categorised as ‘urgent’ (knowing that these need to be handled before anything else), ‘important’ (when you have additional time to attend to your email), and everything else."
With Knowmail, “employees can focus on what is relevant for them, rather based on what is newest, saving time from looking for the needle in the haystack, and thus get more of the right things done,” the company explained.
The updated service is scheduled to launch in full early next year, after the company secured an additional $3.5m in new funding late last week. It will also be compatible with Microsoft’s voice-controlled virtual assistant Cortana, and have its own bot.
The platform taps in to the growing trend of AI-supported personalisation in the workplace, shifting employee attitudes and ramping up efficiency as a result. For more on the emerging products and services redefining how people work see Work Reimagined.
