Vilnius Electric Bike Rent & Share

Vilnius in Lithuania has become the first city in Europe to introduce a public electric bicycle rent and share scheme. The programme is part of a series of initiatives by the city’s Mayor, Arturas Zuokas to promote Vilnius as a world leader in environmentally friendly transport.
The orange e-cycles are available for rental at four tourism information centres located in the downtown and Old Town areas of Vilnius. A built-in GPS system monitors the location of the bicycles at all times.
The bikes cost €3 for the first hour of rental, with costs increasing hourly. A €145 deposit is payable by credit card at the time of rental and is refunded upon return of the bicycle.
