UK-based health food chain Holland & Barrett is trialling a new protein-shake concept called the Shake-a-Whey bar in a revamped London store, offering customers functional food on the go.
The ‘mix-and-go’ bar is aimed at fitness fanatics in the City, who can either mix their own protein drinks to take away in their own bottles, or purchase ready-made options. The new-look store opens at 7.30am – allowing busy commuters to grab a shake from the bar en route to work – and also features a ‘pick-n-mix’ stall of fruits, nuts and seeds.
“In London particularly, we are seeing a hugely diverse range of customers shopping for traditional products like vitamin C, through to special diets, sports nutrition and healthy food-to-go items,” said Peter Aldis, chief executive of Holland & Barrett. “That’s why this new store has been modelled with convenience in mind – to help people maintain their health and wellbeing in the easiest way possible.”
