British retailer Marks & Spencer has launched a new cooking app that is compatible with Apple's recently launched smartwatch as well as Apple and Android smartphones and devices.
The app offers step-by-step cooking tutorials based on specially created M&S recipes, such as Italian beef patties with parma ham and pesto and chicken, chorizo and paella. The app also allows users to build personalised shopping lists and 'tick off' items as they shop, while in-built timers further simplify the cooking process.
As previously reported on Stylus, retailers are using technology to simplify grocery shopping and cooking for increasingly time-poor consumers. Online UK supermarket Ocado has just launched a shopping app for the Apple Watch that speeds up the buying process by curating shopping lists based on users' previous choices, as well as allowing voice-activated shopping. In January 2015, UK supermarket giant Tesco launched a shopping app in conjunction with Google Glass before the headset's product launch was halted.
