Time Travelling Apps

The move into augmented reality is speeding up, focusing on our sense of "placeness". Using Google maps, Museum of London's Streetmuseum app provides users with a unique information service for the British capital. Hold your smartphone up to a modern day street scene and it is transformed into one from the past.

Similarly, Sepia Town allows users to share historical images of places and maps them in the exact location of where they were taken. It currently covers a number of major cities, including New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, London, Moscow, Paris and Amsterdam.
