Genie: Countertop Meal Synthesiser
The miniature Genie countertop cooker turns pods of freeze-dried ingredients into full meals in as little as 30 seconds. Described as a "Keurig-type machine" by its inventors, Israeli entrepreneurs Ayelet Carasso and Doron Marco, the device can produce a range of edibles – from chicken and ramen noodles to muffins and chocolate soufflés.
To create a single-serve meal, users simply select a food pod, pop it inside the device and add water. The pods only contain natural ingredients and have a shelf life of up to two years. Gluten-free and vegetarian versions are available for consumers with specific dietary requirements.
The Genie, which is now available for pre-order on the dedicated website, is designed for at-home and office use as well as any communal facility where multiple meals need to be prepared on the go.
