Pre-Fall 2015: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

Preen: By Thornton Bregazzi Pre-Fall 2015

Sportswear continues to offer strong inspiration for designers – this time for British label Preen: By Thornton Bregazzi’s Pre-Fall 2015 presentation.

Design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi pulled many design elements from the previous S/S 15 season – notably sports stripes – into contrasting mixes perfect for contemporary market consumers looking for an update.

Large sequins in red and cobalt with an oil-slick shine accentuate grey marl sweats and are crafted onto plaid miniskirts, while ribbed trims and exposed zipper linings add a sporty aesthetic to ladylike lace pieces. A standout look sees the power suit updated with striping down the sleeves and legs.

Contemporary checks – a key trend for the Pre-Fall 15 season (see House of Holland) – in red, navy and powder blue give an edge to the classic maxi shirtdress. Military coats and skirts are also modernised with red and white ‘go-fast’ sporting stripes. Keep an eye out for further military themes pulling through from Pre-Fall 2014 (see MM6).
