Athleisure may be an ongoing trend but there’s a new look about to win the fashion race as sportswear enters the glamour stakes.
It is an emerging trend at several key influencer shows – Alexander Wang and Rihanna’s Fenty for Puma among them – and one we can expect to see hit the high street any time soon.
Get into the starting blocks with the essentials to the look: satin boxing shorts, fur-trimmed blousons and fur hoodies, cropped bra tops, satin parkas and plenty of attitude.
There’s a 90s feel to the look with borrowed-from-the-boys oversized shapes, combined with good-girl-gone-bad accessories like fishnet hosiery, over-scaled gold chains or jewellery and high-heeled boxing boots or high tops.
And, of course, this is a great trend to combine with graphic logos or tongue-in-chic sporting slogans, with 90s-style branding making a big comeback for A/W 16/17.
