Matthew Williamson for Ladurée

The latest in a long line of fashion designer/packaging collaborations (Karl Lagerfeld and Coke, Gareth Pugh and Absolut Vodka), Parisian confectioner Ladurée has teamed up with UK designer Matthew Williamson to create a predictably lavish graphic statement of luxury and style.

Using every colour in his arsenal, Williamson has transformed Ladurée’s iconic mint-green macaroon packaging with his signature use of exotic patterning.

In celebration of the partnership, the special edition boxes were launched in London during Fashion Week, having just hit Paris to catch the crowds arriving for the shows there. The pink and blue butterfly wing printed box, containing eight macaroons, will also be made available stateside this autumn at Ladurée's recently opened NYC store.

Williamson follows in the footsteps of previous Ladurée collaborators: shoe designer Christian Louboutin, and fashion designers John Galliano and Marni.
