InterContinental Hotels Wins Sustainability Award

InterContinental Hotels has become the first hotel group to win a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) award – the Michelin star of sustainability.

By enforcing a sustainability system called Green Engage in its individual hotels, the group has the ability to save more than $300 million in energy costs from its portfolio of 4,500 sites – catering to an increasing number of customers looking to reduce their environmental footprint.

An LEED is issued to buildings and sites that include leisure, dining and retail spaces that employ sustainable materials and conserve water and power.
