Compressed Cruising for Time-Pressed Travellers
London-based luxury river cruise operator Uniworld is launching a European river cruise experience for time-starved consumers.
Launching in April 2018, U by Uniworld's two dedicated boutique cruise liners, called A and B, will cater for individuals between the ages of 21 and 45. Bunk beds, silent discos, local DJs and cocktail-making classes are all part of the fun. The cruise liners are set to sail along the Rhine, Seine and Danube rivers.
During June and July, the cruises will stop off at some of Europe's biggest festivals, including famed beer celebration Octoberfest in Germany, Hungarian music event Sziget Festival and the Paris Jazz Festival. Passengers can also choose from a catalogue of planned excursions, including countryside hikes, street-art tours and wine-tasting trips to locations where TV series Game of Thrones was filmed.
These excursions are shorter than traditional Uniworld cruises (typically aimed at travellers aged 55+), catering to busy working professionals with limited holiday allowances. Eight-day itineraries will cost from £1,699 ($2,184) per person.
