Extra

Rising contemporary art star Jacob Kassay is currently showing at London’s Institute of Contemporary Art.

The American painter presents works that reflect upon monochromatic and colour field painting, using silver-plating on the surface of his paintings to create an uneven reflective surface.

Because of this technique, the colour of the canvas depends on the viewer’s reflection on its surface, presenting a new way of looking at colour field painting. The exhibition runs until November 13 2011.
