MAD Foodcamp

MAD Foodcamp, organised by Noma co-founders René Redzepi and Claus Meyer, is a celebration of gastronomic trends through the seasons. The two-day festival, which is the largest of its kind in northern Europe, invites leading fruit and vegetable growers, food producers, foragers, scientists and chefs to share their knowledge.
The theme for this year’s MAD Foodcamp is the Plant Kingdom – vegetables play an integral role in the modern Nordic Kitchen. The festival believes that the Nordic countries’ enjoyment and appreciation of vegetables should be spread to the rest of the world – especially when the planet’s population is expected to rise by three billion by 2050.
MAD Foodcamp takes place on Refshaleøen (Refshale Island) on the outskirts of Copenhagen August 27–28 2011.
