Country Living: Pop-up Orchards


Popping up on 5th Avenue, NYC, last Friday was the first of 16 "Orchards" due to appear across the US this winter, courtesy of the gourmet gift brand Harry & David and architectural innovators The Rockwell Group.

Less directional in their design than some of the recent fashion pop-ups, Harry & David's country farm-style stores aim instead to bring a traditional autumnal experience to urbanised areas.

Customers can find gourmet cheeses, wine, fruit and chocolates not otherwise available in the city. Special features include personalised packaging such as a "make-your-own bento-box" and a custom gifting station.
