Design Directions A/W 15-16

Design Directions for Autumn/Winter 2015-16 reconsider our conventional perspectives on the world, and our increasing participation within it. Contemporary, astute attitudes determine new definitions of luxury; stretch boundaries for manufacture, and respond to the collision of digital and physical.

Unearth A/W 15-16
In carving out new definitions of luxury, Unearth discovers product stories that elevate the natural splendour of materials. We draw from our Materials Focus Autumn/Winter 2015-16 trends Monument and Precious Craft to readdress the appropriateness of raw materials, where preciousness is found in utility.

Unearth carries influence with the specialty and luxury sectors and those addressing the notion of value through a balance of provenance and innovation.

Intervene A/W 15-16
Conventional perspectives on manufacturing are reinvigorated in the process-driven Design Direction Intervene. We draw on innovative approaches to recycling from our Materials Focus A/W 15-16 trend Repurpose, along with the vivid, pigment-inspired aesthetic from our Colour Spectrum A/W 15-16 trend Creator for an experimental direction underpinned by sustainable alternatives.

A dynamic and spirited Design Direction, Intervene appeals to the creative and youthful consumer with a thirst for experimental, yet practical design solutions.

React A/W 15-16
Intelligent materials and applied technology call our expectations and perceptions into question in React. We garner the transformative qualities of our Materials Focus A/W 15-16 trend Responsive and a synthetic take on the Dark Frontiers trend from our A/W 15-16 Colour Spectrum for an illusionary direction defined by dynamic forms and smart surfaces.

An enquiry into the behavioural qualities of materials, React appeals to industrial and performance sectors looking to an engineered and technological approach to design.

Colour A/W 15-16
A key component of the A/W 15-16 Product Design Directions and stressing the evolution of our A/W 15-16 Colour Spectrums, we look to the key developments in Colour across Unearth, Intervene and React.

Natural materials of copper, stone and hide, seen in their most raw forms, underpin the colour story of Unearth. Intervene is characterised by process-driven colour derived from man-made materials and unexpected composites. An illusionary direction defined by light and reflection, React is weighted in metallics and lustres indicating anodised, industrial finishes.
