SO-IL Displays Meissen Porcelain in Coloured Prisms

Extra

New York-based studio Solid Objectives – Idenburg Liu (SO-IL) has designed a collection of coloured perspex prisms in which Meissen porcelain works are being displayed at Kunsthal KAdE in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

Using colour to reinvent the decorative porcelain pieces, SO-IL’s contemporary take on the traditional display cabinet contrasts with the traditional Meissen craft.

SO-IL’s Florian Idenburg commented: “The organisation of colour, shape and material reduces the individuality of pieces and their object-like character, to create a more fluid and visceral experience.”
