Emma Watson for Lancôme

British actress Emma Watson was yesterday announced as the new ambassadress for cosmetics company Lancôme, with an imminent campaign to be shot by photographer Mario Testino – who also shot the actress for a number of Burberry campaigns last year.

Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International, said: "Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation. We are delighted by this new collaboration with Emma, who brings a fresh spirit to Lancôme."

The Harry Potter star has recently been Tweeting about putting her studies at US university Brown on hold to pursue acting and other activities.

Last week, she launched a five-piece sustainable diffusion line for designer Alberta Ferretti, called Pure Threads. Available from March 21, part of the proceeds will go to her previous collaborator, fair trade fashion label People Tree.
