ChromaYoga: Sensory Immersion for Exercise

ChromaYoga, Photography by Stephanie Sian Smith

A new, immersive yoga practise that is complemented with colour therapy, aromatherapy and sound will launch in Shoreditch, London in January 2017.

Each sequence in this unique yoga class is coordinated with a specially designed combination of sensory triggers which unite the ancient practice with contemporary stimuli.

The all-encompassing atmosphere created by ChromaYoga is reminiscent of the recent exhibition by Ann Veronica Janssens, yellowbluepink at the Wellcome Trust in London. Janssens explores the impact of different hues on our senses by infusing spaces with a haze of colour – her more recent work is featured in our recent Miami Art Trends report.

The influence of experiential art on the health and wellness sector could inspire a new wave of immersive exercise that provides holistic escapism through shrouding our senses and reducing distractions. See Transformative Spaces, part of our Business of Wellbeing macro trend for more examples of how colour is being used in branded environments to tune our feelings.
