Standalone Store for Madeline Weinrib

Almost eight years after turning the sixth floor of US department store ABC Carpet & Home into an atelier for her popular collection of soft furnishings, Madeline Weinrib – granddaughter of ABC founder Max Weinrib – is finally opening her own showroom next month.

The new store is located on Fifth Avenue next to her private studio in the Flatiron district. The 3,000-sq-ft space will carry her entire collection of fabrics, pillows, table linens and rugs, along with a selection of vintage Moroccan and silk dhurrie rugs, antique fabrics, and small objects collected on her global travels. And in a somewhat surprise move to maintain an air of exclusivity, the showroom will be open by appointment only.
