Local Knowledge

Having already taken place in cities such as Berlin, Tel Aviv and Vienna, Berlin-based curator Hannah Hurtzig’s 14th Blackmarket installation will be hosted in the 2011 European capital of culture, Turku, Finland.

The installation consists of 50 individual tables occupied by local experts ranging from natural scientists and craftsmen to artists and philosophers. Audience members will be able to book an expert who will share their knowledge during a half-hour mutual dialogue. Alternatively, the audience can listen to the conversations on the Black Radio channels.

Blackmarket For Useful Knowledge and Non-Knowledge No. 14 will take place on October 20 in the Turku Volunteer Fire Brigade building.
