A network of 1,300 electric vehicle (EV) charging points will be built in London by 2013 under a scheme called Source London. For a £100 annual membership fee, drivers will be able to charge their EV at any Source London charge point, whenever they need to.

The scheme will mean there will be more charging points than petrol stations in the capital, and aims to make Londoners an average of just one mile from the nearest charge point.
