Rood by Rens

Eindhoven-based studio Rens has launched a line of clothing that is dyed using only red pigments, titled Rood. The hand-dyed collection makes use of different fabrics’ absorbency and reaction to the red dyes, resulting in a myriad of tones of the same hue.

The company also offers traceability of its goods. Each garment comes with a code that can be entered online to discover the story of the garment and the processes that it has been subjected to.

Regarding the Rood project, the team describes the process as “working as an alchemist with the magic of dyeing; balancing, dipping the clothes in a tub of liquid dye, the tint, the water, the salt, the pigment”.
