Telegraph Launches Women’s Online Channel

UK-based Telegraph Media Group has launched a new online channel for women titled Wonder Women. The new section features “sassy, irreverent, intelligent” content on politics, business, family, life and sex.

Regular columns, articles and advice from contributors such as business expert Sophie Cornish (founder of Notonthehighstreet.com), comedian Katy Brand, and Channel 4 news presenter Cathy Newman aim to voice the opinions and concerns of women from all races and backgrounds. As editor Emma Barnett suggests: “this new channel addresses issues that are affecting women on a daily basis, in all aspects of their lives”.

The initiative reflects a growing focus on women in the media following political concerns in the US and a spate of new female-centric TV shows. See Stylus’ reports America’s Spiritual Awakening and TV – What Women Want for more insight.
