Designers in Residence 2012

Celebrating new and emerging design talent, the London Design Museum’s annual Designers in Residence programme – now in its fifth year – has selected this year’s five finalists.

Chosen from an open-call, this year’s residents will be British design graduate Freya Sewell, London-based designers Harry Trimble and Oscar Medley-Whitfield, New York-based industrial designer and architect Lawrence Lek (pictured), and Tokyo-born sound artist Yuri Suzuki.

The designers were asked to respond to the brief ‘Thrift’ and to explore the idea of the economy and resourcefulness of an object, environment or experience. The results will be displayed in the Design Museum from September 5 2012 to January 27 2013.
