Acne x William Wegman Dogs Campaign

Swedish fashion label Acne has teamed up with American photographer and artist William Wegman for a unique Spring 2013 campaign that used a pair of beautiful Weimaraners as models for the collection.

Wegman is known for his love of the German breed and combined his favourite dogs with fashion in the series of photographs, which sees the dogs wearing Acne’s floppy-brimmed hats, money-printed suits and tractor-tread loafers for a humorous campaign full of personality.

Dogs are definitely having a moment in fashion right now. Menswear Dog – a self-explanatory Tumblr account that uses dogs to model its men’s styling posts – has proved a cult hit this year, while London department store Harvey Nichols’ latest campaign, entitled The New Breed, satirises the clichéd trend for toy dogs in handbags by replacing them with tougher, British breeds such as boxers and bulldogs to highlight the store’s influx of new, accessible designers.

In addition to the images from the Acne Spring 2013 campaign, there’s also a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the campaign, showing both the dogs and Wegman in action. See the video here.
