L’Oreal Paris Colour-Matching App

Global cosmetics giant L’Oreal Paris has developed a free iPhone app to help customers choose the right shades of make-up to match an outfit.

The Colour Genius allows users to take a picture of the clothes they’re wearing and choose a proposed tint that works with the outfit. Users decide whether they wish to Match It, Blend It or artfully Clash It to the garments. Lipsticks, eyeshadows and nail varnishes are then suggested for purchase, with full names and descriptions.

Users can also specify whether the make-up look is for day or night, with the app offering colours and products that customers might not otherwise try or be aware of.

The app is available for purchase now with a fun demo video featuring French model and designer Inès de La Fressange getting ready for the Cannes Film Festival 2012.
