Milan 2013: String Lights by Flos and Michael Anastassiades

Another highlight identified by Stylus at the Milan Furniture Fair, String Lights by Michael Anastassiades is one of two new releases by the designer in collaboration with Italian lighting brand Flos.

Inspired by electricity pylons, the simple lights use suspension to create a framework of black electrical wire within a space. The light shades are available in either a conical or spherical shape while the wiring can be hung up in a multiplicity of options.

The refined design is an exercise in stripping away to create a pared-down look. This minimal aesthetic is explored in Stylus A/W 14-15 Industry Trend Composed
