Electric Rolls-Royce Phantom

Luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce is due to unveil an electric version of its Phantom flagship model at this year’s Geneva Motor Show – the international exhibition for new automobiles.

The vehicle will be exhibited as a concept car and is not expected to go into production, but Rolls-Royce hopes to gauge customers' interest at the show.

The company is keen to explore a range of hybrid and electric solutions to find the most suitable one for future models. Chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos explains: "I must be convinced that any alternative drive-train we choose for the future delivers an authentic Rolls-Royce experience."

The Geneva Motor Show runs from March 3-13 2011.
