Cool Hunting for Gap

Harnessing the power of the global/local effect - through which global businesses are making notable forays back into local communities - a new collaboration between two design businesses, the style website Cool Hunting and high street fashion retailer Gap, is bringing New Yorkers a truly local Christmas shopping experience.

Combining Cool Hunting’s editorial design knowledge with the retail savvy of Gap, the pop-up store on 5th Avenue will sell innovative products by local designers in an inspiring  space.

All products will come from independent companies in the New York area and will champion work from sources as disparate as local designers and craftsmen to residents. Products already highlighted as wish-list favourites include Grado headphones and one-off creations by Jonathan Adler, as well as Cool Hunting design collaborations and a display of the site’s digital content.

The store is open until January 2, 2011.
