Musical Deli

Tongues Delicatessen in Vienna, Austria is a dual-purpose retail space with a difference. Eschewing complementary product categories Tongues marries the unlikely bedfellows of record store and meat counter.

Originally two adjacent but independent stores the owners, Christopher Schweiger and Peter Fehringer, decided to merge business premises after becoming friends – combining the two in one, rustic inspired design. Visitors are regularly treated to a live musical shopping experience via the stores decks, reaffirming that at the heart of the unusual design lies the more traditional, universally understood, partnership of food and music.
