The Museum of Glitch Aesthetics

To coincide with the annual Abandon Normal Devices festival of new cinema, digital culture and art in Liverpool and Manchester in the UK, an online digital artwork profiles the glitch aesthetic of US-based remix artist Mark Amerika.

As a new commission by Abandon Normal Devices, Amerika’s online Museum of Glitch Aesthetics will feature a wide array of digital artworks intentionally corrupted by technological processes including net art, digital video art, digitally manipulated still images, game design, stand-up comedy, sound art, and electronic literature.

The glitch in visual design is a powerful reference of the modern, digitally led aesthetic that continues to inspire global designers and creatives. For more on this aesthetic, see our Glitch Graphics report.
