DLD Women: Apps to Empower Women

Mobile phone giant Nokia launched the IdeasProject: 'Apps to Empower Women' yesterday at the DLD (Digital Life Design) Women 2011 conference in Munich. Delegates were invited to brainstorm ideas for mobile apps that can help busy women be more productive in the areas of work, education and leisure.

The project was organised by Pia Erkinheimo – head of crowdsourcing at Nokia, and DLD co-founder, Steffi Czerny. It runs from June 29 to September 30, during which time people are encouraged to submit their ideas for empowering apps to ideasproject.com. The winning app will be developed by a team of female software developers and made free to download at the Nokia app store, Ovi.com.

DLD Women unites topics like leadership, female markets & consumer behaviour, social innovations and how digitalization is shaping the life of women in today's society. The DLD Women conference took place on June 29-30 2011.
