Smart Mood Ring

Moodmetric, a Finnish fashion-tech company, is developing a mindfulness-enhancing smart ring for tracking "emotional voltage".
The ring detects the conductivity of the user's skin – long used as a basic measure of excitement and emotional response – and sends the data to their smartphone.
By becoming conscious of when and where emotional peaks occur, users can understand and minimise stress, according to the ring's designers. As well as boosting awareness, the accompanying app also comes with a meditation trainer.
Moodmetric says that its users will enjoy "increased productivity, reduced stress levels, improved flexibility to deal with life's challenges and better social relationships".
Chief executive Niina Venho said: "Our product is the first wearable tracker that targets better understanding of oneself and emotional intelligence development."
The Moodmetric ring was designed in partnership with Finnish jewellery company Oz Jewel and will be commercially available in early 2015. It reflects the rise of wearable technologies that go beyond step counting to track and coach emotional wellbeing.
