New online beauty boutique Bloom is providing users with a brand new shopping experience completely powered by peer recommendations.

Members fill out a profile detailing their age, skin type, colouring and beauty concerns. They are then invited to write reviews for their favourite (and least favourite) products.

A personalised store is then generated for each member based on their profiles, filled only with items suitable for them, based on other users’ reviews. Not only does this approach place the power in the hands of the users (as opposed to a team of buyers and merchandisers), but it also allows for a much more social shopping experience.
