Alila Luang Prabang, Laos

The Alila Hotels and Resorts group is opening a new hotel in historic Laos. In recent years, the former French protectorate has become a focal point for boutique luxury hotel groups and travellers looking for alternatives to Thailand and Bali. Both Amanresorts and the Oriental Express hotel groups have properties in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Slated for an October opening, the new Alila, a member of Design Hotels is the second in Luang Prabang from the award-winning group. Designed by Duangrit Bunnag Architects, a Thai-based practice responsible for other Alila properties, this sleek 23 suite hotel features once again signature attention to clean, polished lines and local materials - a photogenic and architectural style characteristic of other Asian luxury hotel groups.  Housed in a listed French Colonial structure, Alila Luang Prabang incorporates original details including corner towers and a gateway.
