Nando’s Opens In-Restaurant Recording Studio

Nando's

South African-headquartered global chicken restaurant chain Nando's has opened a high-tech recording studio at its Soho branch in London.

The studio, which is visible to diners and open five days a week, comes complete with an in-house sound engineer, industry-standard recording equipment and editing software. It's available free of charge to budding producers, artists and DJs, who apply to use the space through the brand's website.

The opening of the studio coincides with the fourth anniversary of the brand's music exchange programme Nando's Music Exchange, which holds workshops, provides mentoring and hosts events in the music industry. The initiative has worked in close collaboration with British artists such as Ella Eyre and Stormzy.

This development continues the trend for restaurants acting as flexible, multipurpose spaces and work hubs, as discussed in Tomorrow's Wandering Workers – part of our Macro Trend The Work/Life Revolution.
