Hussein Chalyan Fragrance Launch at DSM

Hussein Chalayan will launch his new fragrance Airborne at Dover Street Market on Thursday (21 July). The British/Turkish Cypriot designer worked with Japanese fashion label Commes des Garcons on the creation and production of the scent, which features top notes of bergamot and lemon, and base notes of incense, musk and cedarwood.

Chalayan used his childhood travels from Cyprus to London as inspiration for the fragrance, drawing on traditional Mediterranean flora and fauna scents. As well as the perfume, today also sees the launch of a new book entitled Hussein Chalayan at Dover Street Market, published by Rizzoli. The tome charts the career of one of fashion design's most conceptual practitioners, and includes original drawings by the designer.

Hussein Chalayan will be at Dover Street Market on Thursday for the fragrance launch. Airborne (50ml Eau de Toilette) will retail at £60 ($95) at Dover Street Market, and all Commes des Garcons Parfums and Hussein Chalayan stockists by the end of July 2011.
