Anna Pogossova: Photography

Sydney-based Russian photographer Anna Pogossova styles and photographs delicate still-life scenes. Her most recent portfolio update includes a selection of polished fashion and beauty images that mix vibrant colours with both chalky and gloss textures.

Pogossova references the hyper-real in her work, citing her choice of palette as an attempt to create a hyper-realistic atmosphere. “I like to alternate between a palette of soft painterly pastels, and bright synthetic colours, which I associate with pop culture and fashion. I think both are hyper-real in their own way, and allow me to create strange, enhanced versions of ordinary objects.”
