Doha’s New Gem: Hotel Missoni

Following its 2009 and 2011 launches in Edinburgh and Kuwait respectively, luxury Italian fashion label Missoni has announced plans for a new luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar, slated to open in 2015.

The hotel will feature 200 rooms and suites, 70 serviced apartments, a signature Italian restaurant, a spa and fitness area, a pool with a bar and a ballroom.

Qatar’s government has launched a National Vision initiative, which aims to transform Doha into a world-leading business, sport and cultural city to rival the other Middle-Eastern hubs of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This hotel will give Doha a fashion edge in the same way the label has done for Kuwait, and Italian brand Armani did when it opened its hotel in Dubai in 2011. It seems that the fashion and hospitality hook-ups look set to continue, particularly concentrated in the Middle East.
