Klout and Microsoft

American software giant Microsoft has partnered with Klout, an online service that measures your level of social media influence, to give away VIP events tickets and Windows Phone smartphones to the most influential people living in the US cities of New York, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Klout measures your social network influence on a scale of 1 to 100 by analysing the true number of people you communicate with and how each post influences your audience, tracking subscribers to see how often they share and respond to your content.

The campaign is a great example of brands using social networks to spread the word about their products by word of mouth, targeting and rewarding the most influential figures.
