New Retail Runway at Charles de Gaulle Airport

Catering for the jet-setting elite, French airport operator Aéroports de Paris has unveiled a new luxury retail avenue at Charles de Gaulle airport that offers a taste of the French capital’s most exclusive shopping streets.  

Boasting 2,300sqm of retail space, it’s been designed to resemble the luxury Avenue Montaigne shopping street in central Paris, reflecting the city’s iconic style. Branded L’Avenue by the developers, the space will be part of a new building development connecting terminals 2A and 2C at the airport.

While the venue is packed full of ultra-luxe international designer brands, including French fashion house Dior, Italian label Gucci and British brand Burberry, L’Avenue also incorporates an impressive selection of upmarket bars and gourmet restaurants.

With airports all over the world stepping up their designs (look out for Stylus’ upcoming Spaces Report on New Airport Design in May), the development signals major moves to capitalise on a transitory, but potentially highly lucrative captive consumer market.
