The September edition of Maison & Objet is almost upon us. The biannual fair showcases some of the best international furniture and accessories brands, offering insight into how wider lifestyle trends are reaching the market. Here are three we’ll be looking out for.
- Connected Life: Technology products are being grouped in a new section in Maison & Objet’s accessories hall this year, demonstrating how these products are increasingly defining how we design our homes. We’ll be seeking out design-led tech products that heighten efficiency while seamlessly sinking into the background, a new aesthetic that chimes with our S/S 19 Design Direction Circuit.
- Inside/Outside: As highlighted in Nature Embracers, brands are tapping into consumers’ love of greenery with innovative designs that make it easier to bring plants into the home, even in compact urban apartments. We’ll be on the lookout for clever tools that can help streamline care for those who are less naturally green-fingered.
- At-Home Foodies: Kitchen and tableware has always been a large section of Maison & Objet. As we track changes in the way we eat, cook and live (see Kitchen of the Future), we’ll be looking for items that reflect this new culture around food and entertaining, from fresh approaches to eating on-the-go to innovations that make cooking more convenient.
Maison & Objet runs from September 8-12. Look out for more coverage coming soon on Stylus, or see our coverage of the January 2017 and September 2016 shows.
